Hello-- I was wondering what the general consensus is among collectors regarding the Speedmaster Mark II. I understand that under the hood they are the same as the Speedy Pros, but have a different case, etc. I don't see them discussed much. Do they kind of inhabit the same space as the Speedmaster Reduced, that is they are a nice watch and all, but they simply aren't the Speedmaster Professional? Just curious, trying to learn more.
    Cheers,
    Peter

They have quite a few fans, including Chuck Maddox. Once I got one I understood why - they wear really nicely and have a distinct charm of their own. Also, with the 861 movement they are mechanically pretty bullet proof.

The modern reissue isn't quite as good IMHO as it is a bit bigger in diameter and height, which removes some of the charm of the originals.
