Thoughts on OMEGA Speedmaster 1957 Trilogy

I suspect that STZ006410 11 HJD refers to the whole strap, not just the buckle as my RM buckle is marked STZ006410 11 JJD on the strap and STZ006399 11 JJD for the beige NATO.

I think we can partly agree on the parts number, but this is on the buckle on the Speedy Trilogy dark brown leather strap. On leather you must have the same as it I probably 16 mm. NATO is wider

HJD means brown leather strap, JJD means black leather strap. Same width straps, same physical buckles but with different part numbers engraved into them. I don’t recall what the colour/# for the SM is... @padders, care to shed some light on the topic?

You summoned me? Then I shall answer! JJD for tan SM strap too which is odd! Maybe I’ll check my others.

Note the strap Mark is IJD.

And my other 2. I am beginning to think the 3 letter code isn’t colour:

I agree. The plot thickens!
@Archer, could you please help us shed some light on the relationship between the part number on the the Trilogy leather strap buckles and the strap colour?

All recommendations welcome.

Look no further. I use one of these every day. Excellent quality and a genuine 10x mag. You can get very good pics through it too. Don’t be tempted by the other magnifications. The 10x is what you want, the others have a much narrower field of view.

A iPhone pic through the loupe above. This stone is only ~0.7cts from memory. Focus isn’t perfect but you can make out the inclusion on the rhs.

Some more shots through the Belomo 10x. Two of the Trilogy Speedmaster and one of the RM, taken with an iPhone. The lume is quite different, applied in a line on the Speedmaster like from a tiny icing bag, and squirted into shallow wells on the RM. Both hands show grain.

Great watch! One of my favourites.

I bought mine 8 months ago - my friend was selling it and the only reason I bought it was the watch L.E. number which is same as my birth day and month (0206). This was actually the only reason I went for it. But - from the very first moment I felt in love. The size, the bracelet (well Apollo 11 50th is even better...), the brown leather strap, the case, the hands...as I said, this is one of my favourite from my entire collection. And because of that I bought even the Railmaster and Semaster (this one I bought here on OF) to complete the Trilogy. And I don't regret it at all.

1957 Trilogy watches are just beautiful. Enjoy yours!

Can anyone confirm that the 16 mm buckle as with the Trilogy leather strap has parts number STZ006410 11 HJD

The part number for the buckle is 025STZ006410 | BCKL TONGUE ST 16 POLISH/SATIN.

Cheers, Al

Thanks! My OB guy in Short Hills NJ is ordering this for me for another model.

BTW. There is a Railmaster for sale on display there, if someone wants a new one.

Have you seen a railmaster in the metal? I think they went a bit overboard with the faux radium lume on those. Saw one at the AD the other day and it just looked orange to me. From pictures, the Speedmaster lume is more subtle I think. Definitely some design similarities with 1016 Explorer.

This is the great thing about watches, there's something for everyone. Personally the trilogy series is fairly uninspiring, yes they may be based on the historic models but they don't do it for me.

The Trilogy watches is definitely inspiring for me. I spend my free time at NASA/Space related tours with this watch.
