Guys, wanted to see what your thoughts on Nomos was in general? Do you guys feel like its a solid brand for what it puts out at its price point?

I have always liked the look of them but have never pulled the trigger.
Dont remember having seen anything negative about them though

Great manufacture. I've owned a 2010 Tangente and a 2014 Tangomat, and I've loved both. As much as I love the brand and what they stand for, I've sold both of them, because I wore them very scarcely (not a dress watch guy...)

The finishing/quality of the movement are ridiculous for the price, and the same goes for the rest of the watch, I feel like they're above Stowa for a not so distant price point...
The only gripe I had was with the auto movement of the Tangomat: the rotor made an annoying sound which wasn't really fitting with the quality of the rest of the watch

I love the look and quality of mine too. Unfortunately I'm going to have to sell it. I didn't realize the lugs on this guy makes the watch wear large at 38mm! I may get a 35mm one day though.

Value for money is there. The look is there. I'd recommend you try one on. Personally as much as I admire them, I already have too many dressy watches.

It's more the dial size and thin bezel than the lugs. The dial size is quite large for a small watch, and the thin bezel accentuates this look. I have the 35 mm version, and if you compare the dial on that to the dial from a SM300 (a ~42 mm watch), you can see the difference:

The lugs are long, but it's really that this watch is almost "all dial" when you look at it, and that the dial is very big that makes it wear bigger then expected.

Note that I tired a 38 mm on when I bought this one, and it wore huge, so that's why I got the 35 mm.

Quality wise, they are great watches, and well worth the money asked IMO.

    Cheers, Al

Super watches. Great finishing. I have owned a couple now. My Metro is admittedly now on the sales forum, but only because I want to make way for something else. I reckon it's likely I may get tempted with an Orion at some point in the future.

I think Nomos is great at the price point. I’m more partial to the look of the Junghans personally.

Now there is a good point. I wholeheartedly agree. One of those chronographs resulted in an extended watch nerd discussion at a London meeting last year. Still on my list.

I've had the Club Campus Nacht for a few months - my pick of the Nomos bunch.

I feel its dial is too minimalistic and north-european; I am more a classic vintage person; give me the fancy lugs and markers and dauphine hands!

I absolutely love Nomos as a brand and recommend them to many watch n00bs from the get-go. From a value per dollar standpoint, it's a hard brand to beat.

Here's my Zurich Weltzeit - a gift from my wife for our first Christmas. While I often prefer rugged tool watches (and probably only wear the Nomos 8-10x per year), it's still a treasured piece in my collection.

    Plus that in-house movement:

I have the 36mm manual wound club and love it. I feel that Nomos offers incredible pieces at reasonable prices. They certainly have their own style that is not for everyone, but I have found my club to be very versatile... dressy, fun, casual. If the crown screwed down I might be tempted to call it a “do everything” watch.

My Nomos Orion 38 was my first real watch, given to me by my wife. It is my only "forever" watch. Love it. E1BD609E-A20C-40D6-BD97-8940A484A2FB.jpeg 6801F8CF-6AD4-4BD9-827B-353AC8F936A0.jpeg

I think we share similar taste in watches (well, let's say I love your collection :D ) and this is the only one that would get me back into Nomos. Especially if I had to travel a lot...

That Club is lovely - works really well even on orange, a combo I'd never have considered.

I own a Zurich weltzeit and my wife a Tangente, and both have been wonderful watches. Really well made, and wear much bigger than they are - the example with the SM300 dial shows that well. My wife's is the 33mm Tangente, but I can get away with wearing it and it looks fine. I think they're doing some great things - very specific design references which people will love or not, but great watches.
