Hi All, I'm looking for a birth year 1968 Seamaster with in stainless steel with white or silver dial. My preference is a 166.037 with "Seamaster" on the dial with a 565 caliber. This eBay listing (pictures included from the listing) appears to tick all my boxes with the exception of "Genève" on the dial instead of "Seamaster". Here's the listing - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Vinta...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Can you provide your expert opinions? I can't tell if the crown is right and if the dial looks good including the lume. If it is polished (which I'm guessing it has been); it doesn't appear to be too bad. Thanks in advance for your help. Eric
Movement looks really clean (563, not 565) - it seems the green bits on the rotor are reflection of the plants etc. Dial looks clean but the spacing of the minute markers on either side of 12 o’clock look off as does the lume..... I’ll leave that to those with deeper expertise. I can’t comment with authority on the crown (initially, I thought it to be a service crown but it looks ok to me) but as far as polishing goes there’s plenty of sharpness on the lugs, and the hippocampus looks great. FWIW, I’m right now wearing a 1969 Seamaster Geneve 165.002 I purchased a month or so back on OF and love it. It’s a SM in all but name. May not have the same collectibility factor as a designated SM, but these are often overlooked and, in my still-being-educated view, undervalued. Here’s mine (+1!!). https://omegaforums.net/threads/wruw-today.567/page-4697#post-953895
Actually, it is designated as part of the Seamaster line. Not a plain Geneve case, but a nice SM with bent lugs and a bezel. https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-omega-st-166-0037
