Thoughts on a 168.005

I was thinking about purchasing this watch and wanted to see people's thoughts on the 168.005. I think that the dial and movement look good. Does anyone know if the gold accents were 14K or was it plated for this case? I couldn't find a hallmark on the photograph and the caseback is stainless. Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert, but sadly the caseback is over polished and the observatory logo is just about gone. The movement looks a bit tired too from that pic. Dial seems to be ok though. Not sure what kind of price you are considering.

The back is definitely over polished but I agree about the dial. The seller is asking too much for this condition $1k...

Does anyone know a price range for a 168.005 that is in good condition?

Here's an example of how the watch should appear if in better shape (this one in stainless steel which collectors usually prefer over gold cap):

IMO value of the watch above is significantly over $1k in this condition.
