    Hell all, Im thinking of picking up this brass cased 1040. Ive never seen one in brass and would like some feedback anyone might have..rare?? thanks Ken

    Not "brass", but gold capped. A relatively thick (~200 micron) 14K gold layered over steel. The back should be steel on this one.

    Looks like a nice watch, maybe polished a bit heavily for my taste.

    Actually these are not capped cases, only 20 micron plated.

    I believe that case should have a brushing pattern on the surface of the lugs that works outward from the crystal in concentric circles. Also, the case sides should have brushing on them too. Could be wrong though!
