Not being an expert on all things omega, I thought it was only right for me to consult my fellow members before pulling the trigger on this watch. The details I’ve been told are as follows…

1950s seamaster, original hands (hour & minute seem to be steel) solid 18k gold, cal 501, original crown, original glass (shows sign at centre) Dennison case, honeycomb dial ( potential redial ) No box or papers, the dealer is asking for £2500.

any thoughts and opinion would be greatly appreciated as I am really skeptical about the dial and also the hands. Thanks for reading guys & girls

Overpriced by roughly a factor of 2 IMO. I have something similar, my lugs are worn but the ones you shown are very heavily worn or over polished indeed. Mine:

Hour hand not original, for sure. Soft case, heavily polished.

Would you agree that the batons and minute track not aligning perfectly would mean redial? As your looks to be perfect

Maybe, as you say it doesn't look very well aligned (a bad sign as you suggest) but I don't necessarily think the one you show is an obvious redial, just the it is not in very good condition. Were it straight, you could argue that a mint waffle dial watch would be worth a premium over mine, but not that one IMO.

I'm leaning towards re-dial, but regardless the dial is pretty wonky. Lume removed from markers, mis-aligned, etc. Normally you would have gold-colored hands and dial furniture with a gold case. Case is quite soft. Overall, I really don't like it very much, and especially given the ridiculous asking price.
