You bought the one with the rehaut engraving correct? Could you tell me what is your wrist size out of curiocity?
Yes, it has the rehaut and doing my research I saw that the four linners had a dial variation with the a long F on feet and decided to get it. I looked for one for a little bit until I found this one full set and recently serviced. I have a wrist size of 6 1/2 inches so it feels more comfortable. I think part of it is that it is a little lighter. It also feels more vintage because of the bracelet.
Really nice example! It is similar to the one I am looking as an alternative to the 114060 purchase. May I ask, was it a normal price for the full set and recently serviced 5-digit model?
Having both in your case solves all these dilemmas!
I highly appreciate the aesthetics and the history of speedmaster but i am into the sub for the next purchase. However, for sure I will have a speedmaster in my wishlist for 21!
Hello everyone,
I am in a specific situation and I would highly appreciate once more your opinion. I have decided to make myself a present for my 30th Birthday a Submariner. I have put myself on the wishlist for the 114060 in one of the ADs from whom I recently bought a DJ. I love the look of the clean dial of the 114060 but unfortunately I am not able to try any since nobody has anything available (also the ADs with pre-owned ones).
In parallel, I have been offered from a local shop a 16610 from 2008 NOS (stickers were on) but the price was around 13.5k$! Also from what I have my eyes on a 14060m also NOS (stickers on) the price is almost the same. It seems that the pre-ceramic is more well suited to my wrist size (~6.75'') but the pricing of unworn or mint examples is really high and the fact that I cannot even try one 114060 on my wrist does not make the situation any easier.
Would you consider paying that price for a NOS example for a 14060m with rehaut engraving at all? Should I wait for the 114060 even if it takes several months?
If you're confident your AD can get you the 114060 in a few months I would wait. It wouldn't be too big for your wrist size IMO
I prefer the 14060/16610 case style over the ceramic. Its a more classic design so I'd go for that over a ceramic without question. I think jewellery and watches are way over priced so I'd get a used 14060, not NOS. The jeweller is the only one making with the NOS. Once you wear it its lost thousands as its no longer NOS. So get a nice used 14060/M and save yourself a fortune. I've a 16610 B&P you can have lol. Get a beaten up one and you can bash it and wear it and not care.
After the suggestions and advises of the fellow members, I have decided to leave the NOS examples out of the picture and look out for nice pre-owned examples with B&P.
I have my eyes on a nice 14060m single owner bought in 2012 from an AD. The owner informed me that he wore the watch very few times and most of the time has been in a safe and that's why there are no visible scratches or dents. He told me that the watch is unpolished and no service is performed as well.
I attach here some pictures from the watch and I would once again be grateful if you could give me your opinion and thoughts regarding this example:
Nice. If its within budget or close and a fair price its time to buy I think. Lovely watch I say
I think the price is pretty fair Mark. . And at least to my eyes this is a mint example but I would like to doublecheck with the opinions of people that have in depth knowledge.
Unfortunately I don't have pic of movement but still...
If its a reputable seller then I'm sure it will be fine. If its local you can go and look at it? My last two I've bought I haven't looked inside but I can tell they are real Rolexes. Fakes are good but not perfect yet.
Maybe ask for some close ups of the lugs and the Coronet on the bracelet to see if its polished away (even though the owner says its not been polished it would be wise to check).
