This one went pretty high - Omega Seamaster 105.001 Chronograph

Hi folks,

today it was watch auctions day at Kaplans.

There were some really decent pieces for sale.

I was interested in a really clean Omega Seamaster Chronograph 105.001. (case wasn't that sharp and the engraving was hardly visable but there aren't too many for sale in that condition)

I tried my luck but I must admit that it went over my budget pretty soon and I had to let it go. In the end it was hammered for a about EUR 5.700,- (incl buyers premium) which is a new level for those chronographs.

Is it just me or are prices going pretty steep for decent pieces?

Did someone out of OF family get it?

Not sure that鈥檚 a new level. But then these are nowhere to be found. But everything is relative 馃槈

Generally speaking, I think a few people got some very nice deals on that auction... (That105.001 included).

When the watch arrives and I'm happy with it, I'll soon forget how much I paid and I'll be happy with the watch. The market dictates prices, there was a lot of eager for this piece

Congrats on that catch - love the dial (and of course: DIBS (and also on your 105.004 -> is it the one you catched at the Kaplans auction two years ago?)

Yeah, I got 105.004 two years ago from Kaplans based on bad photos.

I don't think so either, I wanted to fit into the context of the founder of the subject. As soon as the watch arrives, I'll take pictures and show you, you have my word.

What are some accurate prices for them? I have seen them online locally for like 2.5-3k. eur and it seems like a fair deal if you all say that 5k is decent

The market dictates prices. There are no watches when it appears at the auction, this interest is high, and of course the price is high. I've been looking for him for two years.

That was a sweet deal. Surely to become the one I most regret selling for the seller.
