My novice advice says, based where the seller is from, I would automatically assume it is a redial. The lugs on top also look to be polished due to the loss the edging, compared to the bottom lugs, which still have a edge.

On balance, given the way the dial even looks and the price point, I would assume it is a redial.

Polished I totally agree, I have purchased from this seller before though and he actually had some decent watches (despite being from Armenia!!!). On the dial I also feel it is redone but I'm also a novice, so just in case, felt like if it is not a redial it is not a bad deal given the size :p I kind of like these VCs from the 40s....

Oh damn, did you ask the seller straight up if it is a redial or not? Plus I'm sure other members of OF will chime in soon.

Yes, almost certainly a redial. No accent on Genève, and the second track sits too far in. The font is actually fairly well done, to be fair.

    Thanks Tony,

I actually own another similar size one, I am aware of the e accent criteria but also read on THL a while back that there were also some exceptions in the 40s and early 50s. But to no avail, I was never able to really confirm whether mine is truly a redial or not. Pretty happy with it though :p image.jpg

    Cheers,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,

Yes, there were exceptions. But when I see other issues, the lack of an accent mark is more troubling than when everything else checks out.

Yours could be original, though I can't form a strong opinion without seeing high-definition images.

    Cheers,

    Tony C.

    Thanks Tony,

I don't really have a better shot than this as I am not into photography. But any inputs from you will be much appreciated. image.jpg image.jpg

I'm fairly certain that yours is original. Nice watch with an uncommon dial variation!
