are the hands on the 68 slightly different shade than dial? If so, thats the one I would trade.
Honestly I don't see anything I don't like about the watch in the 1st image. Does the second one really have better patina?

a side note, nothing wrong with replaced crystal and crown, so don't decide on that basis, decide on which looks better and ignore the crystal and crown. Eventually those need to get replaced regardless.
Yes, hands are a shade off, and there are some scuffs on the lower right lug. Agree on the crown and crystal.

@harrymai86 he doesn't care which one he gets, he is just happy to get a no date.

I think the 68 will be moving to TX.

Appreciate all of the insight...really helped me out.

sorry my mistake... started end of 1966..
No worries...and I didn't know the baton to sword transition, so thamost.

I hear you on the bezel...that is why this has been a back and forth decision for me.

Though I prefer the no date to the date in general, I can totally see why you would want both references from a collecting standpoint - moresome with the awesome (if sad) provenance. My vote is keep the '67. Originality all the way, plus the patina on the '68 is so good it looks fake. And it's not as though the '67s markers are bad looking 😉

Put it another way: if you were to gift me one of these, I'd pick the '67. So to me, that's the one you should keep.
