First of all I hope this is the right place to talk about a Must de Cartier Anyway I was thinking of bidding on a black dial Must de Cartier and have been searching high and low online on the originality of its dial. Here is the proposed target: Any thoughts on this? Thanks
That example is a bit ‘tatty’ ……and small I have an early 90’s steel Pasha Automatic……lovely accurate Watch, & even at 38mm wears much bigger
In that case, that’s what it is... I was having a guess based on what 90% of them that come to market contain. This is the one at Fellows isn’t it? It’s cheap because it’s well worn... and with 27.6% on top it’s not that cheap.
Who would want an old worn out Cartier de must ? There are a lot of nice steel and solid gold watches out there, why waste your time with this one ???
Notice the one arm of the V in VII (7) has the tiny imprint of the CARTIER name. I’d suggest the dial is original. This watch appears to have been rode hard and put away wet. If I wanted a Cartier, and this was the last one on earth, I wouldn’t take it it was free! Buffing will only make the cosmetic damage worse.
Vintage Cartier were outsourced European Watch Co. Jaeger Lecoultre, etc... Cartier can be nice. , but NOT that commercial crap, I' surprised they even put there name on that !
Vintage Cartier is beyond nice. But Must de Cartier is a downmarket line, specifically created to move volume at low prices. Zero collector value, and definitely a second (or even third) class Cartier. And this example is in sad shape, as has been observed. Move on.
My 38mm Steel Cartier Pasha ( ETA Movement ) Classic Cartier styling, very wearable, bought new over 20 years ago
I want to hate this. But it’s so Bat shit crazy of a mix up it works. If you described this no one would believe you that it works.
Large dark blue cabachon on the crown, as well !! Originally lume plots were green......now ageing nicely to Yellow
