+1 for Moonwatch
Those of us born after ‘69 (‘72 for me) are much luckier than you pre ‘70’ers - our birthyear watches are far less expensive.
But don’t sell the MKII, that’s a cool watch
Yes its a little less expensive for you guys. The MKII is a keeper since i have had it for 15 years

Regarding the price that is true !!! But regarding the story of the whole scene, a 105.012 is further more interesting and then valuable, because of the whole moon history...imo

If the moon history is a priority for you, then yes- more historically accurate. I personally find the twisted lugs with stepped dials to be the most attractive, so that was the period I went after- just happened to be a birthyear. I get the whole Ed White thing but the strait lugged case does nothing for me.

If you can find one - I'd go for Omega cal 320 chronograph.

Love the Elgin. Everyone should have at least one “trench” watch in their collection.

Agree! I purchased this particular watch on eBay from a seller located in Great Britain. The dial says "Made in U.S.A." right above the second's sub-dial, I think this meant it was slated for export. I don't know if was used in actual trenches in WWI though. The strap is new in the "Kitchener" style. The two messengers in the movie 1917 have similar watches.

Sorry for the thread drift. 😬

Many weren’t used in threnches- thus the quotes- “trench watch” has become like “Kleenex” to describe a type- just more easily descriptive than saying “wire lugged- potentially converted ladies open faced pocket watch of the style used by soldiers during the First World War”. 😎

Love the Elgin

he did post a nice spray of watches there didn't he! You can take the Elgin and I'll snag the cricket. Well I should say I WOULD snag the cricket if I had dough to spend. This past week I went nuts and bought wayyyyy too many watches while driving around NY and CT. 😁
