HELLO EVERYONE !~

Just FYI . This is still a work in progress.....
The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversation.. Having collectors either email me a photo of their watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about it in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exists ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 3:00 pm DST Sunday ....

Ok something new to me !

Seller disc … not totally correct. … but here it is

Description

For sale is a rare piece of military horological history: an authentic 1953 British Royal Air Force (RAF) Pilot/Navigator watch issued by the Ministry of Defence (Caseback Ref.

6B/542).

This specific example features the highly sought-after original-spec "Thin Arrow" dial layout, which avoided the standard 1960s MOD "Fat Arrow" tritium dial replacement program.

The dial has naturally aged over the decades into an incredible, uniform "tropical" mottled chocolate-brown patina that looks phenomenal in direct light.

Specifications & Details: Reference: 14388-1 SC (stamped on the inner caseback)

Military Issue Engravings: Features the official Broad Arrow property mark and "6B/542" on the screw-down caseback.Movement:

Clean, copper-toned Omega Calibre 283 manual-wind movement (17 Jewels, Swiss Made).

Case Size: ~36mm-37mm stainless steel case with fixed lug bars (standard issue requirement for military durability).

Strap: Mounted on a military-style brown/khaki canvas

NATO strap.

Condition Note:The case remains unpolished with minor scratches and honest wear consistent with its age and military lineage. The crystal has light superficial marks but retains excellent clarity. Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to evaluate the stunning patina and excellent structural condition of the movement. Serious inquiries only. Local pickup in a secure public location or fully insured signature-required shipping available. Please reach out with any questions!
