hi everyone Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 4 pm EDT Sunday .... THINGS WITH SPRINGS CH CHAT 11/27/22 Remember the Clubhouse room is only as good as the collectors that join in.... please post a watch, timepiece , clock etc you want to chat about. join the room https://www.clubhouse.com/join/thin...te&utm_campaign=ixuJCwEp72FD8BiqRZsvKg-475965 Be Safe Good Hunting Bill Sohne

It was a sensation equal to the flight of Lindberg across the Atlantic 16 years later. A Swiss Co immediately issued watches in commemoration of Blériot’s flight. The development of the aviation was fast, so this flight was forgotten quickly. I received this watch as a present in 1911, because I started to fly my (glider?) in 1910 and continued flights in 1911. This watch travelled from 1913 from Samara to …(China), then across Pacific to Seattle, Wash. In 1923 and to St. Louis, Mo in 1926."
New here, hello all! I’m at a crossroads re: collecting mechanical watches for what, to me, is big money. Who will be interested in 20 years (assuming I make it!) I’ve sold all of the weirdo inexpensive novelties. I’m down to three chronographs. IWC Portuguese chronograph, a newer Heuer Autavia, and Speedy big box set. Then I see Bill’s yachting starter watch and say, damn, I like that!
So this is the only pocket watch I own I know nothing about it. How would I go about finding a decent case for it?
