hi everyone.

Running late today coming back from windup watch fair and Watchtime NYC SO WE ARE STARTING AT 4 pm !

Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 4:00 pm DST Sunday ....

We create original and unique mechanical timepieces that can be seen as “missing links”. They fit seamlessly into the history of watchmaking but clearly have a character of their own. We create what we call “Imaginary Vintage®” watches.

A couple of recent Seiko purchases that haven't arrived yet.

The first is an early Sportsmatic ref 14103D. IIRC, this type of case-back corresponds to the early 60s, the later case-backs have serial numbers with the date code. Not a reference that I am familiar with, TBH, just caught my eye as an inexpensive and attractive watch in virtually unworn condition. You can see some remnants of the original blue plastic case-back protector. These become fragile and flake off easily.

The other is an Olympic year monopusher chronograph. The ref 45899 examples in black or silver were Seiko's first chronographs. These are my personal favorite Seiko chronographs and I have some already, but they are often in poor condition, and the bezel is delicate, so if I see one that is reasonably clean with an intact bezel and legible case-back, I will generally try to get it.
