..................and then there's PACKAGING! Just got this in the mail today. Hmmmmmmm, don't remember buying any magazines? Open it up and two sheets of A4 paper holding a folded sheet of A4. And in that was a sealed envelope. And inside that was another little envelope (starting to get Russian Doll fixation now). And inside that........yep, you guessed.......ANOTHER envelope! And inside that.................finally, something......another folded paper envelope! And now we can see what this huge package contained. Can't quite see it? Here you go, HIGHLY magnified.
It's only impressive if it has the initials you wrote on it when the magician gave it to you at the beginning of the trick.
I once received a pair of endlinks from a member here. The box was size of a microwave, filled with foam protection i had to dig for a while until i found the endinks. Had a good laugh at the office
Well, aside from the very last bit this is pretty close to what I'm sending your way this week! Keep that knife handy. I actually tend to oversize packing on small items just so there's less chance of them getting lost, so I will stick a small box inside a larger envelope for "presence." I think it helps prevent theft to a degree too.
I would much prefer this to a watch rolled in toilet paper (single ply) and shoved into an A2 envelope. The bracelet was actually hanging out of the envelope in my mailbox- a miracle it made it.
Maybe the seller doesn't have recycling in his community and this is just his way of keeping all that paper out of the landfill. I love this idea. If I have to ship something, I'm going to use empty cans as packing filler. Edit: Emptying one now ...
Those little Altoids type tins are great for shipping watch heads or other delicate items in! Toss it in some bubble wrap inside a larger envelope and you're good. PS: About to join you.
It must be the in thing then, or else it's contagious. Look what rolled up a couple of hours ago. A BIG box. And inside that, a BIG padded bag. And inside that, some casually rolled bubble wrap. And inside that, two smallish, normal sized watches. A couple of Seiko 6309s I picked up for donor purposes. PS: The box looked like the courier had kicked it along my driveway, one of the watches had actually come half way out of the bubble wrap, but I 'spose it was still protected by the padded bag!
