Sold a lot of watches. Bought a few.

Bought a lot of wine, another HVAC system, and a hot water heater.

Personally, I'll be glad when 2016 is over.

What a question, I started the year with 3 Connies and a 145.022-68.
    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg
The c-shape and guilloche were both sold (thanks OF!) to help buy another '68, that I later sold in order to buy a '66CB (currently with STS).
    image.jpeg
    image.jpeg

Then a OF member had to go and sell a brown Mk2 to which I had no control.... image.jpeg

Then came a Wittnauer phase (awesome watches at still reasonable prices, but quickly climbing). image.jpeg image.jpeg

And finally this year will be capped with the arrival of.... image.jpeg
....but not without a sacrifice to the Watch gods. I will have to pay penance very soon.

And that's a wrap! Writing this makes me feel like I've been busy, but I know others here have been.....busier ;)

I started buying this year and seem to have gone nuts. Bottom of the page are bought and moved on. Still have all the ones on the top. The 4 on the top left are the definite keepers, the rest are part of my discovery.

And a lot of longines : all of which are gone... image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
    Which turned into a transitional

    But that is gone now
Picked up a 145.022-78 ... But it is on the chopping block image.jpg

Just three. Two Omegas, and a no name. All bumper automatics, all 1950s vintage, and all excellent performers.

Started with 3313 Orange POC and a beater SKX 009

On somewhat of an impulse I purchased my Speedmaster Date

    IMG_3343.JPG

Headed to forum to learn more about it and became a member.

Then I needed a watch for my sisters wedding and the Bambino entered my life.

    IMG_3444.JPG

After a brief amount of time on the forum I decided to get a Birthyear Speedy.

    IMG_4234.JPG

Then a vintage Seiko Navigator Timer which still needs the strap replaced and sent out for a service.

Not to mention all the straps....

It was a very good year. I believe I sold about 8 watches... but then I also bought 43 !!! Maybe there needs to be a re-count, that sounds too high!

I started with this one on January 5, 2016:

    IMG_8676.JPG
Says 1958, which would make it a birth-year watch, but I think that's only the copyright year for 'Snoopy', my favorite cartoon character growing up...

I'm not gonna cover all 42 of the remaining purchases, but I mention some highlights. My first and only Rolex, and I truly love it, a ref.6581 (I guess I like 'yellow' dials ;)):

    A couple 'o Longines PR's:

    Another Connie:

    Some lovely JLC:

and a cool 'Marturx' Heuer auto:

Love my very recent Nivada Grenchens:

    ...and Bulova Oceanographers:

    Photo Nov 13, 10 40 08 AM.jpg Photo Oct 30, 2 04 45 AM.jpg

couple new SeaWolfs added to the 'pack' :

    Photo Dec 05, 6 07 54 PM.jpg

Can't list these, without listing this one, too:

    Photo Aug 02, 5 57 08 PM.jpg

Of course, the year isn't nearly over yet, as I have 5 more incoming ::psy::
...at this moment in time ;):D...

I can't imagine that 2017 could be any better, but... who knows?

    Happy Holidays, OF family!

All these year In review threads. This is workload!!!!
Watches are a sign from God that you have too much disposable income and little in will power. That said I am quite happy with this years arrivals. ( technically the RGM 801 coe was commissioned in 2015). Vowing parsimony and thrift for 2017.

    Bought a chrono matic 49 and a F300 hummer.

Sold a chrono colt and a deville

Gave to family and friends. Sea ram, Tt1, aquaracer, Geneve, and a fossil

Have three watches now and am pretty content.

I owe a big thanks to you Kyle. You helped make 2017 the best year ever!

I even forgot the last one you sold me in 2016:

It even garnered me 2nd place in the 2016 Thanksgiving Photo Contest:

Only mechanical watch that I owned when 2016 rolled in was my work watch.
    IMG_8520.PNG
I shortly thereafter stubbled upon Omegaforum and instantly fell in love ::love:: with The Speedmaster and my obsession was started.

It has been quite a year. I haven't sold anything yet but the first to go would be the Rolex, 36mm feels a bit to small for my wrist. I'm only looking to add two watches in 2017. A BLNR and birth year (-78) Speedie.

Thanks OF for fueling my passion!

Give this Rolex some time. I have 34 - 36mm vintage watches that I love now. Never thought I'd say that .
