We have two seasons out here on the prairies of western Canada, 100 kms east of the Rocky Mountains. One season is winter, and the other is Stampede Week ( Calgary Stampede and Rodeo). Stampede 2022 ended on Sunday, and the weather was perfect for the ten day show. This morning, as I am loading my truck for a four day trip to those Rocky Mountains, we have a bloody cloud burst. And I’m sopping wet!

It hit 33 Celsius today in Ireland, apparently the highest temp recorded since 1887!!!! Obviously most of us are used to travelling abroad to warmer conditions on holidays 😀

I am sorry for you... (US friends that is a high of 80f to 75f overnight low of 67f)

We are built to take the heat here, but it has been very oddly mild for us in Southern California.

Kew Gardens was recording just under 37 degrees C at 11am today:

Highest ever temperature in the UK has already been exceeded, and it’s going to get hotter today:

Staying indoors and trying to stay as cool as possible - I did the shopping I needed to around 9am - it was 33 degrees by 10am as I walked back.

Currently 37°C here, on its way to 39°C later this afternoon. Thank God for air conditioning!

I plan to stay home to watch the Tour de France racers cope with this heat. I honestly don't know how they manage not to drop like flies...

On my balcony, the temperature is now 40.4°C in the shade, and it's still rising. Our A/C unit is struggling to keep the temperature at 28°C inside the living room.
