路9掳 C/49掳 F. Snow expected over the week end. After a cold December (3rd coldest on record), we can live with this. A cold wind today made being out of doors a bit uncomfortable. In the Rocky Mountains west of here, excellent conditions for skiers, snow boarders, and snowmobilers. Avalanche risk excepted.

路Here is something unusual, a cloud bow or ghost bow. Same basic phenomenon as a rainbow but the much smaller droplet size results in diffraction effects and they normally appear white. This one has nicely visible colours which makes it rather rarer. It persisted for at least 20 minutes.
