@Alpha with another cyclone coming towards the NT.
Just flew in and out of Alyangula (Groote Eylandt) yesterday with a fun ride in the storms.

Would say the strong winds and heavy rain predicted have different meanings between here and over your way 😉

If our temperatures here ever got to 90°, I don’t remember it. My heart bleeds for you, but how often might your temperatures reach -40 ° C (-40° F)? On the western Canadian prairies, 100 kms east of the Rocky
Mountains, temperatures like that are not a common occurrence, but it has been known to happen. We will have snow until at least mid May. Some of our most damaging snow falls happen in May as the snow is both plentiful, and WET (heavy), pulling down power lines destroying trees. But no hurricanes, at least in populated areas.

Never. 😀 +40°F is incredibly rare here, but is quite uncomfortable when your home has minimal heat.

I was talking minus 40° C (minus 40° F), not +40° C (about 102° F). The record high temperature here was 37° C, (or 98.6° F). That was Aug. 11, 2018. But like we say locally, it’s a dry heat. The synopsis I read didn’t give humidity. But humidity was likely between 60 and 70%

You didn’t read it wrong. It has never been anywhere close to zero Fahrenheit anywhere in South Florida.

I think the record for the entire state of Florida is -2°F and that was 500 miles north of here.

We have also never been over 100°F. Although 7 months of 90F+90% humidity is enough.
