Recently sold by Tajan for EUR 1820 this reference 22441 (serial 784861). Not sure about this dial - but it may be just the picture...

I was surprised to see that this thread was still going and on page 5. Since I thought it was just about one watch, I stopped reading it a while ago. But it looks like this has become a general Aero Compax thread, not just about that one watch, so I will need to remember to keep reading. 😀

an example of a "swiss made" dial from 42-43 that looks original to me

Hello Ben,
Just a speculation - on this particular watch (Compur ref 22223) couldn’t the “Swiss made” have been added later? The dial looks all nice and original, but the reference and serial number would normally (probably) imply a dial without “Swiss” on it.... (??)
The “Swiss made” has a strange serif font and kind of does not fit the radius of the other printing well...
Similarly for the “rolex caseback” Compur 22208 you posted earlier - it’s a serial and dial design I would expect to have no markings...

Do we know in what year (serial) UG started to put “Swiss” consistently on the chrono dials?

Re: 2&3 handers - I know nothing of them, wouldn’t dare to judge them, sorry.

Btw. This “Swiss made” debate would merit a proper thread... 😉

Washed dial/non UG chrono hand explains the close price.

dial and H/M hands are extremely poor IMO, plus the chrono sweep is wrong

I think it has a description of dial at the bottom but it's not that great-
Dial: 3-6-8-01
Good
Slightly oxidized
Slightly scratched
HANDS Original

Looks like an owner applied lume to the dial at some point in its life..

Sometimes it's kind of a code. If not mentioned original it is not. No fair business practice IMHO
