This - very rare - black dialled ref 22430 (so 37mm) was auctioned today for GBP 3.200 excl 27% fee: https://www.easyliveauction.com/cat...ques-collectables-auction-day-one-1--lot-188/

Will need some work - the corrector pusher is a replacement + crown + seconds hand. But surely will be a cool (and mega rare) watch.
Anyway, this is the second black dial Dato-Compax that I have ever seen.

Btw. Do you think the lume on hands is original!?
I have been asking myself this question for a long time - on many black dial UGs the radium hands are greenish. Is it possible that it aged differently than on white dials? Or are they just all relumed?
Does anyone know, what the color of the lume was when it was fresh? Zinc sulphide (used for lume) + radium is a warm whitish colored powder, turning yellow/brown seems more logical than turning green…

How do you know? Because it is very clean, or is there something in particular that gives it away?

The first, and easiest tell is it doesn't save Aero Compax over the chrono minute sub counter. Also, I don't recall seeling one with two different color printing on the dial. Also the outer scale just looks incorrect.

Me neither. This was about the font used for the punched number. But I think other 22290's have the same font
