Afternoon OF,

This was originally due to air on Friday 5th January, however my gallbladder had other ideas... regular service will now resume!

For this week's show, I spent an evening hanging out with @Nathan1967, talking about his transition from vintage vinyl, to watch collecting, and the friends he's made along the way.

With 5 pieces on the table, each with a background story linking it into the wider watch collecting community, it's fair to say that Nathan is collecting with a little help from his friends.

Listen Now.

I may have been a slightly reluctant “volunteer”, but I really enjoyed being on the Podcast. Chris is great at what he does, he’s like the Sir Michael Parkinson of Watch Podcasts, which calmed my nerves and made things nice and straightforward.
I’d urge anyone who is maybe sitting on the fence, maybe thinking, “could I do a T4AP episode?” to “volunteer” too - do it! You’ll know more about watches than I do and will be a darn sight more interesting. it was great fun. I just hope I don’t ruin your hard won listening figures Chris.

All the best

Nathan

You did well on the name, both of you 😁

I usually describe my name as "The plural of Troll" to English speakers anyway...

And chris I really enjoy your podcasts. It’s the only one that I know of that focuses on collectors themselves and their stories. I like the free flowing, conversational nature of it...I feel like I’m sitting right there with you and your guest. Keep it up man and I hope you find a way into watch media...imo you’re a natural at it. Like the Larry king of watch collector interviewers. Lol

Sorry, we tried 😗 ! I’d been watching episodes of The Bridge back to back so that I could get it perfect too.

Thoroughly enjoyed the episode again, many thanks!

I came to these a bit late, finding them only a bit before Christmas, but have been going back and enjoying the earlier ones (if you see old playcounts going up, it'll be me!). I listen to a lot of podcasts across many subjects, and these are really great. The style is very engaging and easy to listen, but simultaneously very educational. Learned a lot about the watches discussed, but also the history of brands and stories on specific watches and models.

It's probably the aspect of the internet I like most - the democratisation of reach. The watches discussed on the podcast, at the time they were made it would be impossible for an appreciative fan to connect. But today through podcast these fascinating discussions can reach worldwide, AND be preserved for people to enjoy in future.
