·It’s been roughly 1 year since I’ve added anything to my rotation of watches and in that time nothing has really caught my eye. I’ve been exceedingly content with the watches in my collection, even though a few were getting a little to no wrist time at all. I did have two watches on my grail list that I wanted to add at some point but Ive been more laying in the wait than actively pursuing.
On Wednesday of last week, I received a message from a gentlemen on a social media site looking to possible trade his Rolex Daytona 116506 for my Patek Philippe Travel Time 5164. Definitely a worth wow proposal but already having a similar Daytona in my collection I wasn’t really motivated to entertain this trade. I did let him know the watch I was after, hoping by chance he would have it in his collection. Ofcourse no such luck! He however gave me some great parting advice before we ended our conversation.
Following up on that advice, I’m now the proud owner of 1 out of 2 grails that I’ve wanted to add to my rotation. This Patek 5990 is the centerpiece of my collection and will be a forever watch.
