I bought this watch in november 2013 for € 3300. It was for sale on eBay UK and I really liked the patina. I remember I was hesitating to pull the trigger because Ed White's were not hard to find at that time.
The watch did not have a DON bezel but I found a nice one immediately.
It's crazy how things have changed !

The watch got a full service in may 2014, then I wore it a little and I put it in my safe.
Now it's on my wrist again, such a great feeling !
All parts are original, even the crystal. The dial and hands have never been relumed.

I love hearing stories like this where these watches are still worn and enjoyed. I do regret that I am about 2 years too late into looking to purchase them since the prices seem to have tripled since then!!

    Great story ;)

    I have 105.003-65 myself.
Ed White size (39.5 mm without crown) is perfect for my small wrist:

Irrelevant now of course, but you paid a significant premium for the this watch (without a Don) in November 2013. The seller was probably pleased then and miserable now.

I got mine on a trade so not sure what is price for Ed White Speedy nowadays.
    I traded my Tudor 79090 (which I paid for $3000) and 145.022-76 (which I paid for $2000).

Based on my browsing around, is it around $10K?

Probably a pretty accurate guess on the price for the watch head only. Of course, they seem to come up for sale so infrequently now that a decent one would most likely get bid up much higher.

That's just a beautiful watch. I'm glad that you wear it and enjoy it. A new Speedmaster would have cost you more!

Awesome watch, would love to own an Ed White at some point but based on the recent rise in Speedy prices I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

I think it is really interesting to see two watches together. Especially when we come to talk about values....which as some of you know is my favourite thing, discerning the differences in values. The op watch has a truly superb dial.

    So In my opinion....

    This:

Is worth about three times this:

It's not always easy to tell without being able to have them next to each other. And it explains some apparently crazy prices paid for watches, because perhaps two collectors have both seen how very special a watch is, and start to compete. The op watch is now, in my opinion, that special.

Indeed, the OP watch has mint dial and bezel aside of it's age, which is beautiful

My watch's dial shows more age on both dial and bezel

I think these difference depends on use/wear by the previous owners

But still, even with that condition, I won't sell my watch, will give it to my daughter when she grew up
