Life in the Southern Appalachians when rain dumps a bucket full…repeatedly. Water runs downhill, and we have plenty of those. My life at the moment. Guess I’m home for a while.

May you and yours remain high and dry and safe from the excess.

Hah, we're almost "in the same boat" here though North Texas hills aren't nearly so immense. It's been years since I've wished the spring rains would relent because of the excess. Here, the spigot turns off about mid June and from mid July to October we're futilely wishing for a raindrop.

Did get to rescue a nice, very full, rat snake. There’s a positive

Yes! Vermin control at its finest.

Thanks for the photos you're sharing in your thread.

That first photo looks like the photographer is standing at the edge of a driveway taking a photo of an inundated lane that approaches it.

Unfortunately that is my drive. My public works director is in the truck and was coming to check on me and mine. I happened to be down there assessing the extent of the flooding. It has now receded off the drive but we have another heavy line of rain coming. We’ll see how that round goes.

Rick,

I hope that all is well and that neither you nor any of your neighbors are suffering with any serious property damage. That being said, I just wanted to remind you that the Speedmaster that I sold you is not a dive watch. 😉

Thanks for helping out the helpless. Hopefully many more folks are helping animals, too.

Water receded and sun came out. Got a little work in. Didn’t use it as a dive watch but did do some Sheetrock work. Cleaned up just fine😉 (and all is well with our property and family. Thanks!)

Now there’s a man who knows that a Speedmaster is a tool watch. 👍
