In our front yard. I wonder if he followed Santa here, and decided he wanted to stay.

Not stuffed. Definitely not. There were piles of tiny pellets that it left behind which proves that. And at the time this picture was taken, there were also two does in the front yard, as well.

Sounds nice. Living in the city I normally only see pigeons and rats myself

Lots of pidgeons where I live, but there are no rats in the province of Alberta. ::psy::

I seem to have deer in my backyard all the time...and I live in the city. Creek nearby waters them. I turned the corner last month to come within 10 yards of a 12 point buck. He didn’t even blink. They are domesticated around here. Even had a few in my backyard having “relations”

Come visit Chicago--not only do we have rats, we have dumb rats that chew electrical wires and electrocute themselves:

In Alberta, we have full time rat patrols that police the eastern boundaries of the province. Being largely rural along its eastern border, farmers are always on the lookout. They see a rat, the rat patrols descend on the area. The Rocky Mountains pretty well cover the province along its western borders. Result? No rats!

Indeed, the misfortune of port cities! We have the good (?) fortune of being land locked.

I had a conversation years ago with my late naturalist, birder mother in law after a particularly grisly scene in the snow. “Feed one and you feed them all. You can’t discriminate.” She said.
