This dial was completely re-printed/painted (twice) so I assume they took it back to the base metal!

Wow great job then.

Cleaning and touching up some areas is not the same as all new printing.

looks like a full-blast reprint (tampography I would say) to me...

edit- sorry didn't see P2 馃榾

Who did this redial job? Bethge in Germany?

As stated in the original post, everything was handled by Roberto Facchini of C & F Dial Restoration in Norfolk.

I was browsing their website and found the before/after pictures (https://www.watchdialrestoration.co.uk/asp-pages/dial-restoration-gallery.asp). It is interesting, most of the restorations are good in themselves, but when comparing to the original dials, details here and there are missing or changed from the original. I've never had a watch restored, so I'm speaking from ignorance. Is that just the way it is when getting a dial restored?

To get an exact match, I'd expect they'd need access to the original printing plates and for dials like mine, that would require multiple plates all precisely 'registered' to each other so as to be perfectly aligned as they built-up each element of the dial. Personally, even though I know there are significant differences from the original, it's very good IMO. I don't know how much you'd have to pay someone to get it absolutely the same and I doubt even Omega could do it, as I understand many of their dials were outsourced. Single colour/texture/finish and the only difference would perhaps have been the quality, font & position of any text. But as I said, I'm happy with the result and had budget constraints to adhere to.
