I think this watch deserved a thread so here we are :D months ago, an inherited thread popped up and I was lucky to be the first person who sent the pm.

Months later, the seller contacted me that he decided to sell the watch, an offer was accepted however he insisted on bank transfer or F2F in Vancouver.

Bank transfer is out of queation for me as the seller only a new registered member with 2 posts so F2F is the only option. I have tried all my connections in Canada but they all live in Torronto :confused:. Lucky for me, Joel @oddboy has asked his brother who live in Vancouver to make this deal becoming true. A big thanks to Joel for relaying this watch, you are awesome one of the reason I love this forum:thumbsup::thumbsup:

So after a long process I finnaly got the watch today, all the photos sent to me were in bad lighting so i am happy to see it in person today.

It has some issue like no DON (the DNN is minty still) replaced crown and need service.the case is worn but still nice, a perfect dial and hands It has a nice 1035 bracelet with 6 endlinks. However the 6 endlinks were cut straight instead of the original curve end:eek::eek: what should I do it with ?

I would just wear it for a while and weigh up your options, it's a beauty.

Very nice of @oddboy (and his brother) to help you out. Joel once picked up and shipped a Speedie for me as well.

Would have been even nicer if Joel didn't swap in the wrong bezel and cut end links.:)::psy::::stirthepot::

@gemini4, I never told you this story.. When I went to pick up that watch, the seller and I ended up at different Tim Horton's. When I texted him to say I arrived, he replied that he was in a hurry and was going to keep the watch and tell you, the buyer, that he had delivered the watch to me.

Luckily, he was just joking, but it I didn't find it funny at the time. :D

Congrats, great story and a great looking watch. OF power strikes again.

Question about the EL's though – Does anyone understand why they are like this?

no idea, maybe the last owner wants the endlinks to look like a straight end leather strap :), 6 endlinks werent worth that much decades ago I suppose

Maybe the owner wanted to swap the bracelet between this watch and a square one? But to your point, no. 6 EL's were not a precious item in those days...so you'd think this mod would have been done to another pair. Maybe the wrong pair got mixed up with the watch or the other EL's were lost. There is a story there somewhere.
