The pain...

I hate it when I have to send a watch in for service. And in the space of a week I've had to send in my two favorites.
The classic 1013 I simply knocked off my desk and it took two nasty bounces on the hard wood floor. Just enough to screw up the running by making it go too fast. So it is in getting a full service (in for a penny in for a pound). Five days later, my other, late model, 1013...just back from service last month...started having an attack of jumping second hand. So it goes back to it's service center on Monday. The only thing that is keeping me sane is having my 18k Constellation to keep me company.

Feel your pain...look on the bright side - oh, wait - never mind...

Hang in there.

Well, actually I'm negotiating for another 1013...the older style dial but with the later stick hands. They are probably service hands from sometime in its history. I've owned several like that...still very handsome. And three would mean I could put one back on the Jubilee and have the other two on straps. The Jubilee one could double as a gym watch.

Well the classic 1013 is back and on my wrist, and the later one is in the USPS registered mail system, somewhere in Los Angeles...hopefully at my front door tomorrow.

And now they are together...the classic with the 1560 movement and dauphine hands and dagger markers (62 years old)...and the late model with 1570 movement and hacking feature (47 years old). I had been wearing both on straps but I felt it was time to let the younger one go the full monty...and to not be shy about its Jubilee bracelet.

Beautiful and very classical.

The Jubilee bracelet is the only one I really like wearing, especially in all gold. A two tone Oyster on a two tone Sub is also nice...but I'd rather wear an all steel Sub on a heavy leather strap strap...tan or black Ostrich would be nice.

Always admired your gold jubilee John, and good to see a fellow VRF'er here on this forum too! For some reason (probably my incompetence) I can't seem to navigate VRF since Eric switched things over to tapatalk.

Hello. Doesn't seem to be much watch discussion over at VRF...the Market has taken over all the traffic.
