Here's a new box I just picked up. Anybody ever see one of these before? Anybody know exactly which watch it is for? Date and where it would have been used? I couldn't resist picking it up because I think it goes great with my Omega Seamaster XVI from the 1956 Australian Olympics. Let me know your thoughts!

It's a great box (but missing its insert, presumably). What other Omega could it have been for?

Exactly - while it is a nice box, it doesn't go with a 1956 Melbourne Commemorative Seamaster. It might go with the stainless generic version though, or a later watch sold the same year that Omega sponsored another Olympics. Whatever it is, it's pretty cool.

Well, what other specifically Olympic Omega is there from the 1950s (note the pre- '60s logo)?

I believe your box goes with one of these.

For some reason I always thought these boxes went with the XVI's that had the painted dials. The dials with the Olympic rings on them. Regardless, the boxes with the Olympic Rings on top are impossible to find!

I think Norm has the answer

But there is nothing to stop Scotty using the box for his XVI . . .

You could put a couple of nice Siglo VI tubos in it.
