I should've appended "on eBay" to that.

apparently this forum has a lot of drive-bys.

not here to sell a watch, but I want to sell one before I add another. I see pics on reddit with like 30 watches. trying to avoid that, at least for awhile.

only about 2+ years into this.

In the last few months I have moved four out and purchased one. I am down to about a dozen and am pretty happy with that. I was glad to move the ones on that I did. I have a few that I will rarely wear, but have sentimental or historical value that I appreciate. Other than that, if a watch doesn't make it into the rotation, it is time to move it on. I also want to keep the service costs at a reasonable level. I generally own watches because I want to wear them.

A thread where thread drift is the whole point.

My sentiments as well. I have a few pieces of lesser value that are in good shape but need to be moved on.

One way I keep my collection in check is by being annoyingly picky. Sometimes the pickiness annoys me and makes it hard to find a watch I like. Here are a few things that prevented my from buying various watches in my recent search:

That watch is too big, this one is too small, I don't like the date window on this one, the blue AR coating on that watch annoys me, that watch is too thick, that company has crap customer service, the bezel is misaligned (I'm talking to you Seiko), I don't like the style of hands on that watch, I really don't like the crown at 4 or the HE valve at 10, that bracelet style is too 1990s, why would you put big lume-filled white gold applied markers on the watch? (is it a tool watch or a dress watch), I can't justify spending that much money on a watch . . .

A thread where thread drift is the whole point.

But that kind of destroys the underlying purpose of initiating a thread drift. I claim the right to still drift all other threads I find suitable for the purpose

Imagine my dismay when I learned that dad jokes are un-funny jokes. So I realized most of us are visual and have updated my watch joke.

A mainspring and a cap jewel walked into a bar and sat on either side of a balance wheel.
. The spring looks like a snail, doesn't it?

I have a problem with selling much of anything, even stuff I don't wear because of sentimental/historical appreciation. For example: I pretty much never wear my Hamilton MIL-W-46374B... But I just think it's neat?

So, the watches keep piling up, unfortunately.

You just made my day. I love birds with arms. I think I had one as my avatar for awhile when I first joined.

I love that one. And it reminds me that I got to see and photograph some Boobies in the Galapagos.

My problem with selling anything from my collection is that most of my watches look like this:

In short, I’m an obsessive compulsive hoarding idiot. 😁
