Most interesting watchline Zenith has come up with - it has everything; design, mystique, technology! Does anyone know what movement is used in Ref.01-1501-380?

A little while back I saw on Instagram, a guy in Palermo who had 2 or 3 Gay Freres Zenith ladder bracelets. I don’t remember his name off the top of my head, but I will see if I made a screenshot of the post..... I am looking for the Movado version myself!

It's the automatic cal 2572 PC which was made in the mid 70s.

I like how sharp the case is on both examples, well done! Is the red fume example the same that was recently on eBay?

No, it's a brown A3644
So that reference comes with two different type of hour markers?

I'm not sure if that is actually a A3644, though it does seem to match the dial color. In my experience, the only reference from the early series with the chunky hour markers is the A3642. I'm guessing your example simply patina'd in a way where it became darker.

Could be a possibility, but the colour is pretty different:

And that someone just changed the markers ?!? 😵‍💫

wow! that's a really good price for a very rare piece, unusual dial variation. Lovely!
Had my eye on this one but the staining on the dial and the wrong bracelet kept me away. That being said, very good price all things considered.

You mentioned exactly my two Points: but the bracelet I planned to use for one of the above, and I found the case really good (seemed pretty sharp which you don't find that often imho)

Found a nice complimentary strap, can't decide on this or the bracelet or a tropic strap. I have never owned a watch with hidden lugs, this little guy seems to be a strap monster.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the original GF bracelets and think the watch looks best on them. That being said, that is a nice strap combination if I was to go down that route.
