Hodinkee recently posted an interview with up & coming actor Jacob Elordi, who also is TAG Heuer's newest ambassador. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/this-tag-heuer-monaco-dark-lord-knows-the-power-of-the-dark-side

In the article there was a sentence about Jacob Elordi learning to play cards for a new role in a "Bond prequel". This wording has since been removed from the article, it only talks about him playing with cards for a movie, no mention of Bond. But you can see in the article's comments at the bottom that I'm not the only one who caught the Bond prequel remark.

Did Elordi actually let this slip out accidently!!?? Or perhaps is Elordi in a Bond prequel movie, but not in the main role? I guess we'll see!

Did anyone else read this article before the "Bond prequel" remark was removed? Thoughts?

He's a fantastic actor. Dude is a huge 6'5". going to have a problem blending in (being a spy and all).
I don't think it's a slip. 'Dink would have confirmed his statement during the interview before press-- It's a pretty huge deal if JE takes on the iconic role. I however think he'd make an excellent evil genius. He has that "I'm rich and privilege, but didn't get enough hugs" look. Excellent evil genius. Look at Elon.

I wouldn't be surprised if my wife and daughter are suddenly interested in new Bond movies.

I just realized if my bosses are into 007, I can slip in an Omega or two. I hope pretty boy gets the role.

My wife likes him too. I had no idea who he was until he became a TAG Heuer ambassador.

He is very tall. Connery, Dalton, Brosnan, & Lazenby were the tallest at 6'2". Moore was 6'1" and Craig relatively short in comparison at 5'10".

I could see Elordi as the nemesis, but he does have the look of young James Bond. I assume if they do a prequel, the story will be about Bond before he becomes a secret agent. Perhaps covering his time in WWII (if period correct to Fleming's novels) when he was in the Navy.

Could 007 production forces JE, via contract to put on an Omega when he's signed with Tag Heuer? I'm guessing if TH's front man is leading a massive franchise, TH would/should outbid Omega to be part of history. Although I don't think Omega would let go of 007 partnership to TH.

Is there a new James Bond movie coming out?
Nothing official has been announced.

But the Hodinkee article I referred to did say that Jacob Elordi was learning how to handle cards, as he'd been cast in a Bond prequel. This wording has since been deleted from the article, but does lead to new speculation. If a "Bond prequel" is in the works, that could mean a story about a young Bond prior to joining MI6. It might even be a story about James Bond's grandfather, who knows.

Would this be the new James Bond series of movies? Or might it be a one off prequel, like Star Wars Rogue One? Or could it even be a new Amazon streaming series, now that Amazon owns MGM? Anyone remember the Young Indiana Jones TV series?

It does raise an interesting question if indeed Elordi will play James Bond.

Actors in a movie don't always have to wear the watch they advertise outside of movies. Take Brad Pitt for example, who's paid by Breitling to promote their watches. Yet he wore a Citizen Bullhead in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. So JE could wear an Omega in the movie, but still promote for TH as their ambassador elsewhere.

However, Omega is now so closely linked to the Bond franchise that I could see them wanting to wrestle JE away from TAG Heuer. Either that, or perhaps TAG CEO Frederic Arnault might ask daddy Bernard to use the might of LVMH to outbid Omega for the Bond franchise.

He's a bit young to portray Bond as a secret agent. If he's a naval officer during WW II he'll have to get a haircut and lose the earing.

Very interesting.

My money is on Aaron Taylor Johnson, with Christopher Nolan as director.

It might be an origin story… a little like Casino Royale.
Ps he’s already been spotted wearing an Omega SMP at the Bullet Train premiere. Bond girl will be Hayley Atwell
