To tackle the question we have to look at what " spaceflight participants " have been wearing onboard Russian Soyuz capsules launched to the ISS - International Space Station... these people are aka " space tourists " 馃槈
Besides the usual Omega Speedmaster manual chronograph and X-33 analog-digital Speedmaster of course...
So far my registers show that the most expensive wrist watch / time piece worn on any spaceflight mission was an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak grande complication black chronograph version worn by Canadian businessman/entrepreneur Guy Lalibert茅 on Soyuz TMA-16 in September 2009).
Meanwhile, on December 8, the Soyuz MS-20 mission was launched with two Japanese " spaceflight participants " onboard:36 years old Yozo Hirano and 46 years old entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa
In the SWFG - Space Watches Facebook Group we established he wore a Richard Mille RM 27-02 Rafa Nadal version wrist watch at his lefthand wrist underneath the Sokol space suit...
Which one is the most expensive ?

As a future reference to this topic, I'll post the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak spaceflight photo as well: Soyuz TMA-16

O.K. there's an article on HODINKEE about the RM 35-05 retailing 220K
However, people start mailing me that the AP Royal Oak retails about 750K but the RM 27-02 Nadal could be 770K
馃槙 Rounded numbers so I have no idea which wrist watch qualifies as the " record most expensive " wrist watch on a spaceflight mission ?
...
Edit: it looks like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak grande complication remains the most expensive at 785K

Sorry for the thread creep but I saw yesterday that Mark Cavendish had his two gifted Richard Mille watches stolen in a nasty targeted raid. Thankfully it looks like he and the family are safe, but I am sure a very nasty experience.
Soon Space might be the only place to wear and keep watches of this value.
I wonder what the after market situation can be from specialist watches like this - and who would want to wear their special grail watch knowing it was stolen. Buy one with stolen money maybe, but wearing a stolen watch just seems very off and not the best experience one imagines.

But gone are the days when one could leave cash money on the doorstep between the empty milk bottles in order to pay the milkman 馃

Soyuz MS-20 back tp Earth after 12 days in space
So we have it, the Russian Soyuz MS-20 crew with Japanese spaceflight participant Yusaku Maezawa and his Richard Mille Rafa Nadal wrist watch stayed 11 days 19 hours in space... compared to the 10 days 21 hours of Soyuz TMA-16 during which Canadian entrepreneur Guy Lalibert茅 & his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak grande complication black chronograph was 10 days 21 hours in space...

I'm more amused at the fact he chose to take a tourbillon watch to space...
