RJ - Would it be possible to provide the sub-reference (e.g. 105.012-65) for the Speedmasters of the moonwalkers - TIA ...

The Apollo 12 Alan Bean looks like a 105.012-66CB with clearly visible CB facets and distinctive lug shape in both photos.

Apollo 17, the issued watch Gene Cernan wore EVA on the outside of the suit is the 105.012-66CB, and this is what is shown on the NASM page that you linked to. Established on OF here about a year ago on one of the threads discussing the return of the 321 was that Gene Cernan also brought a 105.003 and wore it during his lunar EVAs, but on the inside of his suit. I apologize that I cannot locate this thread on OF at the moment.

I believe the Apollo 17 Gene Cernan 105.012-66CB, which (to this date) is the Last Speedmaster on the Moon, is out on loan from the NASM and on display at the National Naval Aviation Museum, aboard NAS Pensacola:

You're correct about Eugene Cernan wearing the NASA-number #28 Speedmaster 105.003 underneath his Apollo A7LB spacesuit during about 22 hours of lunar EVA's on Apollo 17... Cernan also wore this chronograph on Gemini IX and Apollo 10
Here's the current display of his " lucky charm " Speedmaster at the renewed Omega museum in Bienne ;

It was last July 20th, 2019 when mine followed me home. The deployant strap came a few weeks later. A retirement present to myself.
