Ok, maybe the title is a bit of a statement, but in all honesty if it weren't for one ever so slight scratch on the case (non-crown side) and a ton of lint, this watch would be 'as new'.

(as usual, clicking images links to super high resolution versions.)

    IMG_2844.jpg

(Apologies for the cloud reflections...they are on the crystal, and not the dial)

This is the Heuer Carrera 'reissue' with the (arguably) better Lemania 1873 (almost identical to the Omega 861).
This watch was sold on the 22 October 1998 (as per papers). It is the last of the watches with Tritium on the dial. Factory original all round and in stunning condition.

    The movement.

    IMG_0260.jpg
As can be seen, the movement is pristine, and I would hazard to speculate that I was the first owner to open it, and that it has never been serviced.

    IMG_0261.jpg
I have worn it a few times, and even though I really like it (it is a stunning watch in stunning condition), there is just something about the way this watch sits on my wrist that makes me place this ad. Before making it a daily wearer, I would service it (this can be arranged at additional cost to buyer).

    The Case.

The case is almost as new. The only reason I say 'almost' is because if you look carefully at the following picture (by clicking on the picture to open it in full resolution), you will see the slight scratch I am talking about. It looks like it may have been resting on its side, and then moved around randomly (i.e. on some tray in a car whilst driving?).

    IMG_2848.jpg

This scratch does not bother one on the wrist...its hardly noticeable...but due to the lack of scratches on the rest of the case, maybe if one is clinically OCD it might bother.
    IMG_2849.jpg

Crown and pushers appear in good nick.

    IMG_2850.jpg

    Untouched all round.
    IMG_2851.jpg

    The dial.

The dial is stunning, and as pristine as the rest of the watch. I believe when Heuer made this reissue, due to Porsche owning the legal rights to the 'Carrera' brand name they were not allowed to print this on the dial. Hence 'Heuer' only, which by me is just fine, nice and clean, and due to the accuracy of this reissue, serves also to mark it as such.

    IMG_2845.jpg

The tritium luminous markers (dial and hands) have a lovely matching creamy color.
    IMG_2846.jpg
    The caseback.

The caseback is as untouched/unscratched as the rest of the watch.

    IMG_2852.jpg

All marks are either smudges or lint on the caseback sticker.
    IMG_2853.jpg

    The strap (and buckle).

This watch came to me with a used non-rally black strap. As such it was obviously worn, but very carefully throughout its life, judging by the overall condition. I feel that a rally strap suits this watch to the bone, and so I put a new one on (as can be seen in the pictures up until this point). The buckle is also as mint as the watch, with no scratches.

    IMG_2847.jpg

    The box and papers.

    All in similar pristine condition.

    IMG_2855.jpg IMG_2856.jpg

    A really fantastic set.

What I am looking to trade.

A similar condition full set 3572.50 (hesalite sandwich) or a 3570.50 (hesalite) from 2005/6/7/8. It may have more scratches/use marks, but must be in good condition, and 100% unpolished.

I am a private collector and not a dealer. This watch comes from my humble collection, which like most of you, is a result of a hobby that takes up far more time (and hard earned money!) than I would like to admit.

Trade terms and conditions. For established members with positive OF feedback only. I will consider trading with non-established members, but on the condition that this trade works like a sale, meaning, I ship you this watch, after I have received yours (as it would be if it were a straight up sale). I may consider a cash sale (at a similar trade value to a 2005~8 3590.50)...

Sale terms and conditions. 3000 CHF (USD / EURO / GBP equivalent) wired directly to my Transferwise account for the full set. More currencies are available upon request.

The watch and I are in Switzerland, and so F2F could happen here. I could arrange to meet at a border location (e.g. Germany...to be discussed). I will accept a wire directly to my Swiss bank account too, however that will be in CHF, and will thus cost you conversion and transfer fees. Paypal F&F will be accepted, in CHF as specified. I use Transferwise as it saves you on these fees, and is a local transaction for us both. Returns are accepted only if grossly misrepresented. You will get what you see in these pictures which are of a decent quality and high resolution, so I don't believe there is any chance of misrepresentation.

I will include shipping (plus insurance) to wherever you are in the world, (and so will you in the case of a trade). EU postage can be arranged.

All criticisms about the watch are welcome.

Thanks ΩF for this space

I think that this is great value for the money. The CS3111 is a really well done remake. Its movement is a plus for Omega lovers. Good luck with the sale!

This watch has been on my list for 20 years-
Probably the most accurate re-issue ever made of a legendary watch. If I had $3k loose at the moment, this post would be in a look what I got thread.

3/4 of the folk who are interested ask about 'the scratch'. Here are some pics to highlight/exaggerate it.

    image1.jpeg image2.jpeg image3.jpeg image4.jpeg

In reality, its hardly noticeable. On the wrist, even less so. It is a surface scratch. Its not deep. It could be polished out (at service by a competent watchmaker) without touching the edges or altering the case. But I honestly would not bother. Just imagine what new watches would look like if we got them polished every time they got a scratch (which is what happens to new watches repeatedly, over years, if worn) ...
