    Warning contains minor rant.

I'm selling a few watches at the moment, with the goal of clearing out, starting fresh, and picking up one long term, higher value piece.

Everything is priced based on sold values, plus a little bit for anything freshly serviced.

Now maybe this is my fault for use of the words "open to reasonable offers".

    But then maybe not?

Three offers of under 1/2 what a watch is advertised for, but in the "buyers" local currency, which is worth less than mine.

More than open to negotiation, but can we please not take the piss out of each other?

Low-ball offer? Just say no, and move on. If you've priced reasonably, it'll sell - barring a change in the market level. There really is not much premium, if any, for "freshly serviced", even with documentation.

If I receive an offer in a currency other than my own ( which has happened to me too on multiple occasions  ) I simply message to say that as I have priced in euros I am only taking offers in euros.

I've also of course heard sob stories about exchange rates and commissions, these don't rub well with me as us euro users have had to bite the long term collapse in the value of our currency over the last couple of years which has caused the price of "foreign" watches to rise substantially when buying.

Everyone gets a reply, often in more legible sentence structure than the message received. ;)

Ahh the exchange rates... Yes. This. A lot.

Maybe you should change avatar to something scarier. Something that looks like it eats lowballers for breakfast :D

What surprises me is the number of zero post members who bid on watches here. I wonder how many only signed up here to follow the sales fora... And how many watches end up with resellers

I actually signed up originally as I wanted to buy a watch for sale here. It got sold before I could write the seller. Some things don't change :)

I sell a lot on eBay (not watches) and its part of what I do in my line of work.

I figure in a 10% discount as part of the price and I'm always open to 'reasonable' offers. Every day of the week I get chancers offering 40-60% less than what I'm asking. At first it angered me and there were occasions when I told them to go take a walk on the motorway or jump in the nearest canal but now I don't give them the decency of a reply.

There are plenty out there who want something for nothing.

I sold few watches here and generally offers a quite close to the asked price. Sometimes i accept sometimes i preffred to wait for better offer but at the end, when you are in the good range, Watches are sold.

The only expérience i have with lower offer was for ma 105003 chocolate dial. Not a perfect example but asking price was 5,000 Dollard 8 month ago... nobody for this one... when i think about it now, it looked like a bargain...
