I have been in collecting the 30mm movements long time ago. From the 30, 30T1, T2 and then the 26X and 28X.. I have not counted them yet but I guess I have more than 50 of them in my collection.
In the next few days, I will try to post some photos of these legendary movements and watches that were powered by this family.\

    I love a good Cal 30mm. This is a 1954 266, which I serviced yesterday.

How long does it take you to service one of those yourself?

Being an amateur I don't rush :whistling: I guess I spent about 3 hours on this one. That includes taking photos, spending some time trying to find the new 30T mainsprings I bought and stashed somewhere stupid. I still haven't found them - but I did find a bonus spare 30T spring I didn't know I had :D, so problem solved for this one.

The cleaning machine made a huge difference to the time it takes me to do a movement... Its like air conditioning, you don't need it - but boy are you ever glad you have it.

The 30 and 30T1 were finished with perlage on dial side, the area that nobody will see except the watchmaker

not too long after that, the movements were plated in rosegold color

Normally, they have 15, 16 or 17jewels but sometimes, you can find the rare 18 jewels in case ref 2254

Simon Freese just released this super video about the 30mm Omegas as part of his £100 to Rolex series.
As a relative newbie I now feel I should be on the look-out for one or two nice examples as my small collection of vintage Omegas are all cal 5xx.

What would be your 30mm of choice?
