So I see that a lot of say you would prefer if the reissue was manual wind and opt to buy the original. Why is that? Was the original caliber better? Sorry if it’s a dumb question. I’m pretty new to this.

I suspect the reason is that we like the hair shirt...! It's that simplicity and the daily winding that we like. Personally, I really prefer 2.5Hz as well!! (Listening to that slow beat of the cal 321 is such a pleasure).

Yup. I am one of those people that prefers a little larger dial. A 36mm or larger in a vintage Longines is hard to come by. Seems most vintage are in the 32-33.5mm range or even smaller.

I recently got rid of a beautiful early 50's Longines 30mm mens watch in perfect condition but never wore it because it looked too feminine. My wife thought it looked way too small on me. By today's standards that's barely big enough for a female... which is where the watch went to.

what is the size of this lug to lug?

Longines is using the exact same case design for the new Sector as the Heritage Military, and the lug to lugs are 47mm on that piece.

seems like each heritage release outdoes the last..

wasn't one of the early military 24hr back dials 53mm L2L..that killed it.

Correct, it came in both black and white dials. Roughly 50-51mm lug to lug if I remember correctly.

Wow those are much longer measurements than I would have thought. Too long of a watch for me as well.

That was my experience with the LLD -- loved everything about that watch. couldn't wait to try it on, finally did and it wore like a footbridge over my wrist with those long lugs. The BigEye, with its more aggressive but shorter lugs, wears beautifully. Have had similar experiences with some of the Nomos models.

Longines have been smashing it with a number of releases over the years. The pricing is a bit high, but aesthetically speaking it’s a sure winner. I’d have it over the sector dial JLC equivalent and pocket the extra saved cash!

Glad they went with the white color on the small seconds instead of the grey! Yes! Can’t wait for mine.

Thanks for the heads-up. I may go that route if mine doesn't come in shortly.
