    Hi,

Just wanted to share my latest find.

I was travelling around Japan for three weeks and visited dozens of pawnshops and dealers. This beaty was hidden in the far corner of the tiniest vintage boutique in Tokyo. Price was right and condition amazing... I did not hesitate for a second. Always dreamed about having a nice Piapan and obviously this rather rare piece filled all the dreams.

    Ref. 168.0065 Cal. 1011 - serial dates to 1974

Very nice watch. I think you need to find a correct seconds hand for it. These are usually silver and extend slightly past the pie-pan edge.

I think your watchmaker should be able to find one of these without too much trouble.

    Take care,

I love finding great pieces like this. So rare these days as all the good stuff goes up on the net. I miss the days of finding a gem and it making the whole trip feel a little more special.

Nice. I live in Tokyo and I'm trying (and failing) to stop being interested in vintage Omegas, but the jumbo oddballs and lost-planet piepans will be hard to pass up if I run across one. Trust me when I say you don't want to know what "pie-pan" actually means in Japanese. Sellers here usually call them something like "12-facet" dials.

Oh, and love your avatar @Tatu - I had a pug named Vegas, she wasn’t the sharpest tack in the box but made up for it in cute factor

I noticed that the hand was not original but kind of fits the watch. Have to look for an original one and replace when it´s time for service.

Very nice! I remember a friend had one and he showed me, but I had mixed feelings About the Omega applied text being at the bottom. I must see it again.

    What was I thinking. :D

fantastic find. May I ask how much you paid for it? a ball park figure will do. I am on the hunt for one and have always wondered how much these JDM constellations go for.

Wow lucky you! I should have spent more time looking for watches when I was in Osaka (and surrounding cites) and Tokyo last May.

This is my example. Which I love. It’s about to go to STS for a new bezel to be fitted as the original is cracked ( A common issue I believe) in readiness to sell unfortunately. E4FD7B6C-57A7-499A-AC70-5D46CB49596F.png
