·When the vintage Omega watch you buy come with a new non-Omega strap, do you care to swap the buckle out to an Omega buckle? Is this normal collector practice or a no-no? Thanks.
Most of the time a new Omega strap will cost more than the watch, so a decent quality aftermarket strap is certainly OK. Be careful on the buckles, most of the ones on eBay are cast fakes.
For ladies watches, the ratio of good ones to bad is a little better.

Re fake buckles - it won't be easy to tell, won't it?
Over all, I was just wondering if there are some unwritten collector's rules in regard to putting an Omega buckle on a non-Omega strap. I am glad it is not considered a no-no.
Thanks all for your opinions. Keep'em coming if you have more.
I think I have a 10mm one that I don't use, let me know if you want it! Not sure if it's aftermarket though, it looks like a newer buckle.
