Hi , My name is Michael and I'm new to vintage watches. I've had an interest in watches for some time and collected a few. My wife calls it a problem when she runs out of room in the safe for her things. I'm looking to add to my collection with some vintage watches .
I will take some pic's and try to post in the next day or so. I'm trying to get a lead on a 1956 Omega Melborne Olympic model, any idea's on finding one.
They aren't exactly rare and show up on eBay at least 4 or 5 times a year. Now, whether they're correct & authentic..... well, not usually. Post pics or link to the listing and we'll critique any findings for you.
Hi guys - new member here. My name is Brad Cancian and I am from Brisbane Australia. My watch collection is very small and is only just starting. My first watch purchase was an Omega Speedmaster Professional as a 30th birthday present to myself last year, and I have just started to become interested in vintage 50s and 60s Omegas (have my first vintage Constellation and Seamaster examples in the post as we speak). Hope to learn allot from you fine folks Cheers! BC
This forum is founded and ruthlessly run by some yobbo blokes from Brisbane. We also have a large contingent Aussies, as the founding fathers require constant adoration and praise. One of them will probably be about in short bit to explain, as I am not fully conversant in Aussie talk In any event you are most welcome here.
Don't worry Brad, we won't make you clean the latrines..... yet. Buy Ashley a beer when you run into him at a local watering hole and you'll be fine.
Hello all, My name is Warren & I'm in London, UK. I joined the forum a few days ago after someome from the forum replied to me on twitter about a 1970 Seamaster I had bought. By no means am I a watch expert, but I have bought "middle level" Swiss watches on & off every few years. Lately I've been getting more interested in movements and quality watches and keep coming back to omega's - both modern and vintage. At the moment I have a 1985 Speedy Pro on a 1450 bracelet & the 1970 Seamaster chrono,as well as a few other makes I picked up over the years. Hope to chat with a few of you & learn some new stuff soon !
Thanks for the welcome Steve. ...and as you asked, here are some pics My Speedmaster (cal 861, approx 1985) - sorry, I don't have pics of it on the 1450 bracelet (I took it off so it didn't get damaged). [ 1970 Seamaster Chronograph, cal 861 (that's a hair by the second hand, not a crack) and a Baume & Mercier I have mostly used as a smart work watch (Hampton Milleis Chrono) and I have 2 or 3 others knocking about that are less interesting...
