I was offered this about two years ago and I didn't buy it....... Regretting this now, big time. I'll never be able to find watch in the same conditions and for the same price.......

You should definitely have bought it. I have been looking for a full set at a decent price. Considering how long the production run was they are surprisingly hard to find.

Kicking myself now, for not buying it.

It is more a problem of price more than condition. I saw many SD in excellent condition B&P but they were all around 7K, which i assume is higher than the price that was offer to you.

It was $6k .....and it was freshly serviced with high resolution pictures from the watchmaker......

I noticed you said “saw” and not “see”. I think excellent condition, box and papers have surpassed the 7k mark now.

Passed $7k a while ago.

Made the plunge and settled on a 16600...spent unhealthy amounts of time searching for the perfect tritium dial but couldn't settle on one [and impossible to find B&P]...so went with a Z serial from 2007...only 1 owner, gently worn, routine service, box/papers/hangtags/receipt...wonderful shape

Really enjoy how under the radar it feels...

Anticipated the bracelet might not fit perfect...have 2 links removed (just over 7in wrist) and the 5 fixed links at 6:00 makes the clasp feel a little off center...might get one removed if it starts to bug me. Or just throw it on a NATO.

Am loving it thus far and appreciate the comments from those in this thread!

One of my favorite watches of all time and honestly if I have a 7inch wrist or larger then I’d still own one of the multiple dozen references I’ve had from 1665, 16660, 16600, to 116600’s. All great watches, but for my size wrist I just prefer the sub case design. I think because it’s too heavy most guys try it and pass it along.

When I got my '06 16600, I took it to a Rolex dealer/jeweler and had them remove a link and that left the clasp off center on mine as well and went back and asked if they could solve that. I assumed I'd have to pay. I felt a little sheepish not having purchased the watch there but it's free service that is offered so I took advantage of it. I have since done business with them and have no qualms about it now.

This is my favorite Rolex, up through the reference 116600 before the cyclops. It is just the right size, and its less common to see than a sub.
