    Just incredible!
Because of Rolex-shortage, I found Omega-watches. I got carried away with the history of the Moonwatch, Apollo-program, etc.
I got my first Speedmaster and I bought my first-ever Telescope, the Sky Watcher.
Yesterday I saw the Moon through Sky Watcher.
I’ve never experienced anything like that. Beauty, mystery, Art... The Moon!! I was wearing one of my Moonwatches, ofcourse!
Life is strange; with my love for watches, I’ve found also a new hobby with my family. We all enjoyed yeasterday evening watching the Moon! THANKS, OMEGA!!!

Which Sky Watcher telescope did you buy? I've been interested in the hobby for sometime, but don't own a decent telescope out of fear that I will go off the deep end.

Pretty awesome stuff, OP! I have been wanting to do something like that with family (night sky is fabulous for star gazing where I am) but have been lazy. I have a telescope at home but I have no clue how to use it. It came with the house when we got it a couple of years back. Has been more of a decoration item than anything else. Would love to learn how to use it. Your post has given me some motivation. Will look into this now. Thanks

Not wanting to hijack the thread but I've been thinking of getting my godkids a telescope. They're the right age to find that sort of thing fun and interesting. The problem is that I don't want to spend a fortune on something that might not get used a lot and the cheaper ones all seem to have poor to middling reviews.

How does the one you've bought fair up? Would you recommend it?

    I bought the Sky-Watcher Skymax-102.
Without knowing anything of telescopes, I got started easily with this. Deep end is where we are going...

Yeah: I can warmly recommend this telescope for beginners. It is pretty massive though.... Great idea for your godkids!!!

Congrats! Enjoy stargazing with your family and that big round thing up in the sky is indeed mysterious and beautiful to look at. Sharing my recent photo of the moon with 15mm eyepiece and 4mm (marker shows Apollo 11 landing site) eyepiece using a celestron explorer 70AZ scope. Cheers

I might suggest finding a local astronomy club that you can get involved with for starters. They will usually have star parties where you can see a wide variety of telescopes and see if this is something you are really interested in. I donated about a Speedmaster worth of telescopes to my kids school after a trip to New Mexico resort excursion and a guy with a telescope got me interested. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere light pollution will pretty much ruin any quality viewing other than the moon.

Alrighty. I have to share. Your posts (@FinWatch and @MrJKLFoams) inspired me. I was out with the telescope this evening. 26F and clear skies. Wasn't wearing my Omega Moonphase, but I was wearing my Ultraman. The moon photo is with my cell phone pointing through the telescope eyepiece. Super high tech, I know! 32mm eyepiece in an Orion 10" Dobsonian.

I just got this beauty from Omega; this thread is great place to introduce properly my Moonphase. I love the Moonphase! With this colouring it is something very special in my collection. I love the feel of this piece: big, but not too heavy, striking details and yeah.... The Moon.....

I ended up with a Speedmaster after a similar reason of not being able to get a Submariner. I'd never even heard of Omega beforehand but now love the brand and the watch. It also got me into astronomy and I have a Skywatcher heritage 130p and 200p because of the watch piquing my interest.

This is my first choice but end up getting the blue version with steel.
really cool piece and unique due to green ceramic bezel. Luv my blue version and since I love moon photography to have a realistic moon phase on my wrist is such an art and tells something about me thats why I love this timepieces. Enjoy it!
