This just up on TZ: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=7200974&rid=0#msg_7200974 Case looks pretty beaten around.....but the insides look ok. What does the hive think.....take a flyer on this one? cheers P
They wear nice. Bracelet is very comfy. And of course, 5100. Get a spare date support (or movement or watch ), Omega part # 1045-1527 I believe. Condition looks fine to me.. those hands would fit the 376.0822 as well. The only way I know to find spare hands for the Grail, so, well... might as well have one and wear it until I need them, right? It's a fun watch, even though it doesn't get out much in my case.
I nearly bought one a few years ago, but when I finally got it on my wrist I discovered the crown sticks out and digs into the top of my hand quite a bit, enough to make me pass. The crown is small and sticks out underneath, an odd design decision. The particular Speedy in question is in fairly rough shape. The case is unique and will be very difficult to restore. Finally, without intending to be meanspirited, I would avoid that particular dealer. I'll leave it at that.
Condition wise, the top of the case looks pretty beaten up, with the numbers on the bezel looking scrubbed in places, and what is either dirt, or a dink out at 7 o'clock. These do come up on eBay for €1300-€1700 relatively often... I think you could get better condition for the money he's asking.
Thanks gents for the replies, very helpful to my process. As with a lot of stuff....condition, condition, condition. I really like the shape of the case. Movement is easy to deal with, but the refresh of the case/bezel might take a trip to Bienne (I know) if I want it to look as good as @oddboy's . More thinking/looking on eBay/waiting likely. cheers
I believe it has had the date wheel replaced with an English one. I think they had German only dates originally.
