Hi!

I’m new to this forum and to self-help watch resizing.

I have this Speedmaster (Ref: 3513.10.00) with a 1563/850 bracelet that I am resizing to fit my wrist. I got the job done but somehow I feel that something went wrong. Some of the pins seem to be moving inside their “tubes”. Is there a certain way the pins need to be fitted?
I have thi pins shown on the picture and there are arrows on the links. Do these show which way to push the pins out or which wat to push them in? Also, I have this cheap tool I’m using but am looking for something more solid. Any tips?

Any tips and help are very welcome!

Thanks!

Hi, thank you for the reply. I did not actually.
How can you tell?

I ask because it was bought from an auction by a respected company. And, if what you say is true, I would like to point it out to them and a Omega service partner.

Thanks for your input!

I don’t see any red flags re the watches authenticity. You might point them out, thanks.
You do know that you have a horrible fake, don't you?

This looks correct for the 2004 Olympics edition. I know a guy who is selling his locally and it looks the same.

There are several videos on youtube that will help you. Or have it done professionally to avoid any new beauty marks. These appear to be pin and collar so you will possibly need a small jeweler’s hammer to finish. Good luck but the more you learn to do on your own makes the collector sickness grow stronger 🤣

Thank you for the replies! I will check out some video’s on this. The collecting (and wearing) craze is going to get a lot worse I can imagine 😀

I can’t see a difference with the one on ebay so that gives me hope! It would be a major bummer if this one was indeed a fake. I still wonder about the motivation for the initial comment though.

Most modern dials have more than a logo so it would appear to be a knock off. I have seen this model in person so I’m more confident about the authenticity. But you can run the caseback and serial to make sure.

I have a few watches that need service so I think I will take this one in as well to check, just in case.

I see nothing at all to indicate that this is fake. It's a ref. 35132000.

Very unlikely that it is fake, however if you provide me with the serial number, I will look it up on the Omega Extranet and confirm if the serial number corresponds to the correct reference number.

I'm guessing that @ExpiredWatchdog looked at the picture and jumped to conclusions based on the design itself. I did the same when I first saw this one.

This model is a strange design for Omega and departs from many of their common design queues, to the point it looks like a different manufacturers watch with an Omega Logo.

So yeah, I suspect it was just a knee-jerk to this unique reference.

That said OP: if you have any doubt, id strongly suggest taking Archer up on his generous offer.

Thank you for the offer! I think all the messages convinced me that the watch is real but I might still look up the serial number just in case.

So I went up the attic to find the box and it actually has a certificate of authenticity 😁. I completely forgot about that so no more need to worry.
Thanks for all the messages though!

Enjoy and if you decide to resize the bracelet just be gentle and patient.

K, I give. Not a fake. Just unusual. I does have that "I'm guessing an Omega should look like this" (deep in the slums of Beijing).

Sorry for any misgivings.
