    Hi.
I am at present sitting in my chair from where I do most of my fiction writing.
Right now I am b***** terrified!
Because I have ten minutes ago submitted my first manuscript to a literary agent and I'm bricking it!
What will they think of it?
    Do they think it's crap.
Or will they think it's brilliant.
I don't know the answer to any of the above, what have I just done?
    My head hurts!
    I need a drink but it's too early ( 3.30 UK time ).

Too early or just right after a long day? :) What's done is done now - nothing you can do about it so don't torture yourself and hope for the best! Congrats on the submission!

Get a drink, sit back down, and submit to 10 more today. It's a numbers game. The more you submit the more the odds tilt in your favor.

In Stephen King's "On Writing" book, he talks about writing and submitting many manuscripts before making it.

If writing is what you want to do, keep doing it no matter what the literary agent says.

King also advised to write every day... so do that instead of worrying! All the best

I don't, and I don't read his other books (not into that genre). I really enjoyed the book however.

He details his process of writing whatever flows from his mind, then going back and editing to remove every unnecessary word. He even gives an example and it struck me how much he ends up removing of his own writing. Anyhow, I try to keep this in mind when writing emails at work, and I often go back to remove unnecessary filler words.

I too will take a first edition, autographed please. My grandchildren could become rich beyond their wildest imagination.
    Best of luck.

If reading Stephen King’s books does not calm you down, I would suggest Moon Watch Only book.

    Good luck!

The sun is well past the yardarm, so my advice would be to have a couple of swift liveners minimum. You deserve it.
