A man is on his way home from work when he gets a text: "Hey Joe. This is Bob, your neighbor. I need to come clean. I've been taking advantage of your wife - I needed to get that off my chest, I'm sorry." Joe walks into his house, in a silent rage. He goes to the kitchen to look for his wife, but she's not there. He grabs a knife, then proceeds upstairs to the bedroom, where his wife is on the bed taking a nap. Joe stands over her, then stabs her repeatedly in a rage. Joe goes back downstairs, pours himself a bourbon and sits on his recliner to reflect. As he's sipping on his bourbon, his phone buzzes again. "Sorry Joe, I meant your Wi-Fi. Damn spell-check!"
With all the recent talk about AI, and ChatGPT, I thought that I would provide a very recent example of the extraordinary capabilities of state-of-the-art software that is designed to interact with people. I have a domain, which is registered through Network Solutions, a very large name registrar. I recently noticed some suspicious "products" on my account, and tried the company's chat software. Note what finally triggered the program to attempt to transfer me to an actual human being.
